Study to Become a Pharmacist in Turkey
International applicants usually start with a school-leaving diploma, transcript and passport. The university assesses the application and sets its exam and language requirements. An accepted language certificate may provide an exemption; otherwise, a university test or preparatory course may be available. Confirm when the university requires school-diploma equivalence (denklik). Pharmacy normally takes five years, excluding any preparation. Admission and scholarship decisions belong to the university or funding body.

Careers after Pharmacy
Practising as a pharmacist requires professional authorisation. In Turkey, Article 2 of Law No. 6197 sets Turkish citizenship and diploma registration as ordinary requirements. A separate route exists for certain legally recognised statuses, including documented Turkish origin under Law No. 2527; a Turkish degree does not establish eligibility. Check your position with the competent authority before applying. The following roles remain subject to the rules of the country and the duties of the job.

What happens outside lectures depends on the university, so ask the department what it actually runs: laboratory research projects, pharmacy students' associations and visits to pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Pharmacy curricula include compulsory placements in community and hospital pharmacies: ask where they take place and in which language you will work with patients. For a semester abroad, ask which Erasmus+ partner universities the department has and whether international degree students can apply; a visa for the host country is a separate step.
