University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus)

UCLan Cyprus is the Cyprus campus of Britain's University of Central Lancashire, founded in 2012 in the town of Pyla. Students earn a British degree while studying in Cyprus, in an international English-speaking setting and at a more affordable price.

The international entry rules require a school-leaving certificate or 96 A-level tariff points in relevant subjects for undergraduate study, plus IELTS 5.5 or an accepted equivalent. Master’s applicants need a bachelor’s degree equivalent to at least a UK Lower Second Class and IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. National qualifications are assessed individually; an 11-year certificate is not an automatic offer.

1. Submit the university application. Follow the international application steps and pay the about $55 (€50) non-refundable application fee (2026/27).
2. Resolve English evidence early. The international page accepts alternatives including PTE and Password Skills Plus. Applicants needing a visa must supply an accepted qualification; ordinary English-medium schooling is not a universal exemption. The university lists specific nationality exemptions.
3. Read the conditional offer. It sets the programme and outstanding conditions. For a non-EU visa route, the first about $3,360 (€3,000) deposit is credited to tuition; the next about $2,240 (€2,000) is payable when the entry permit is ready, also credited to tuition.
4. Check the next available start. The 2026/27 academic calendar places second-semester teaching from 25 January 2027, with induction on 18–22 January. This is not an application deadline or a promise that every programme accepts January entrants. Confirm programme availability and the visa-file deadline with Admissions before making payments.

• School certificate and marksheet in the original language and English.
• Passport copy with at least two years of validity and accepted English evidence.
• For a master’s: bachelor’s degree and transcripts, personal statement, CV and two references, in addition to the school documents.
• For the non-EU visa stage: country-appropriate certification, police and medical documents, bank evidence and payment receipts, following the university adviser’s checklist.

The official visa instructions require scanned documents to be checked before originals are sent. Document validity is time-sensitive; prepare the academic file first, then schedule medical and police certificates for the confirmed submission period. The university and migration authority assess the application.

2026/27 published tuition. UCLan Cyprus: fees 2026/27 gives the standard prices below for local, EU and non-EU students. Programme exceptions and special scholarships have separate conditions.

Budget before arrival. For 2026/27, the fee list requires a non-EU tuition deposit of about $5,600 (€5,000), a $55 (€50) non-refundable application fee and about $235 (€210) for the visa application/Alien Book. A student pass is about $110 (€100), charged each undergraduate year; distance learning is excluded. The deposit is part of tuition, not an additional course charge.

Scholarships have conditions. The 2026/27 list gives 50% and 40% first-year merit awards on the original undergraduate fee. For a Russian certificate the stated averages are 4.95/5.0 and 4.85/5.0 respectively. These are different from the standard bursary; awards do not simply add together. Ask which award applies and what is required to retain it in later years.

Housing is separate. The Student’s Nest accommodation page explains how to apply after receiving an offer, but its rental section still labels 2023/24. Request a current written quote showing contract months, utilities, deposit and cancellation terms; do not use that old section as a 2026/27 price.
