The way in
International students are admitted on the basis of their diploma and an English certificate (IELTS/TOEFL). Malaysian universities are known for a clear, fast admission process for international students.

How the process works:
- Pick a university. About 100 institutions of three kinds: public, private, and branch campuses of Western brands - Monash, Nottingham, Heriot-Watt and others. A branch diploma is identical to the home campus one.
- Check entry requirements. Bachelor's admission formally requires 12 years of schooling: with an 11-year certificate most universities enroll you through their own Foundation year, while some private programs accept students directly - we check per program.
- Language. IELTS or TOEFL; many universities accept their own internal test instead.
- Apply. Online, directly to the university: translated certificate, language certificate, passport, photos.
- EMGS and the Visa Approval Letter. Visa approval is issued by the state operator EMGS - usually 2-3 weeks after admission.
- Student Pass. Issued on arrival after a medical check; it's also what gets renewed for the following years.
Your 11-year certificate is enough
With an 11-year certificate the usual route runs through a Foundation year at your chosen university: about a year, after which you move into the bachelor's program without a second admission round. Some private universities and specific programs take school graduates directly - that gets settled at the shortlist stage. The alternative to Foundation is one completed year of university at home. Master's degrees in Malaysia
Graduate admission is simpler: a bachelor's diploma is accepted directly, programs are almost entirely English-taught, and prices stay Malaysian even on Western branch campuses. Top business schools may ask for GMAT - the exception rather than the rule.
