## Higher education in Spain at a glance {#c1}

Les Roches (hospitality management school) - Marbella

Spain attracts students with a mix of quality European education, a warm climate and relatively affordable living. The country is especially strong in business education and hospitality - home to some of the world's best private business and hotel management schools.

Education follows the Bologna system. Public universities teach mainly in Spanish, while private business schools offer many English-taught programs.

## Advantages of studying in Spain {#c2}

- Top business schools and world-class hospitality schools.
- English-taught programs at private universities.
- A warm Mediterranean climate and quality of life.
- Degrees are recognized across the EU.
- Rich culture and the chance to learn Spanish - one of the world's most widely spoken languages.

## Tuition and fees {#c3}

EU Business School (Barcelona) - Barcelona

Costs depend on the type of institution: public universities are more affordable, private business schools are pricier but offer international degrees and industry ties. The cost of living in Spain is moderate by European standards.

In a consultation we'll share current amounts for the specific program.

## The admission path {#c4}

Admission is based on your school diploma and proven language (Spanish or English). Public universities may require an exam and homologation (recognition) of your diploma.

We'll help with document recognition, language preparation and the application.

Step by step:

1. Pick your track. Public universities from €900 a year require certificate homologación and usually PCE entrance exams (via UNED); private ones skip homologación and admit on documents.
2. Homologación. Recognition of your school certificate by Spain's Ministry of Education - slow, so start it first (several months).
3. PCE exams. Most public universities require subject exams via UNEDasiss; preparation can be done remotely.
4. Language. Spanish DELE B2 for Spanish-taught programs (the majority) or English for the growing English-taught pool.
5. Type D visa. After admission: proof of funds, insurance, housing.

## Admission with an 11-year school certificate

Spain accepts 11-year certificates after homologación - no preparatory year. The fork: public university = homologación + PCE exams + Spanish; private university = document-based admission without homologación, at a higher price. A common working scheme is a private university with an English-taught program plus Spanish learned on the ground. ## Master's degrees in Spain

A bachelor's diploma is accepted directly, and homologación is usually not required - universities run their own equivalence checks. Public master's fees are moderate; Barcelona and Madrid business schools price at the European level. The study permit allows part-time work.
